HUSTL Baseball is hosting an Outdoor Skills Clinics!

6 weeks of clinics: Tuesday, July 14, 2026 through Tuesday, August 18, 2026

6-8pm, Arnie Cohen Memorial Fields, West Lafayette

These clinics will be directed by Caleb Bartholomew, HUSTL Baseball's head coach, and will focus on hitting, pitching, fielding, and conditioning.  Players 13 years old and older and who are home schooled are eligible to participate.

HUSTL Baseball plans to field a full high-school baseball team in Spring 2027, and we would love to use these Skills Clinics as a way to begin developing players, the team, and our community.  Scroll down for more info about the 2027 Spring High School Team.

Important Details:

  • Registration will typically start in late November/early December.
  • We hope to offer indoor drills and practices during the winter months.
  • We will practice outside (weather permitting) after our indoor practices are over.
  • We must have a minimum of 12 players to field a team.  If we do not have 12 registered players by the designated registration deadline, we will not schedule any games for the spring.  We may still offer indoor drills and practices, depending on interest level.
  • If we can field a team, games will begin in mid-March and will run through the end of May.
  • We have communicated with several other teams within the state of Indiana, and are confident that we will have options to schedule games.  We hope to schedule games to be played on weekdays and on Saturdays. No games will be scheduled on Sundays.

What we need from players:

  • A strong desire to play the game of baseball and a strong commitment to the team
  • Tell your friends about this new team and recruit them to play with us!
  • You will need to provide your own baseball glove, batting helmet, cleats, and baseball pants (color TBD).

What we need from parents:

  • Help with coaching -- if you or someone you know is experienced and/or interested in coaching baseball, please let us know.  We are in need of more coaches!
  • Help with fundraising efforts
  • Help with keeping books/stats during the games
  • Flexibility and grace as we navigate our way through a newly-offered sport

 Eligibility

The teams are open to homeschool children.  The baseball team, in particular, is for boys only.   Homeschool is defined as schooling that is parent directed through the home or organizations that are non-public, non-accredited, and non-approved by the state of Indiana.  Taking dual credit courses, e.g. from Ivy Tech, is counted as homeschool education.

High School Eligibility:
Players are required to be between the ages of 14-18 years old (age requirement is as of January 1 of the yearly season).  (Please reach out to us directly to discuss any exceptions to this rule).

We Need Help from Parents to Make the Season Run Smoothly

Volunteer help from parents is necessary to keep the team running smoothly. We presently need parents to volunteer time for these tasks:

  • Books/stats
  • Fundraising (We are currently reaching out to arrange fundraising opportunities.)
  • Coaching/practice assistance

Additional needs will be communicated to parents when practices begin in January.  Each family unit is expected to volunteer in some way to support the needs of the team.
